Hospital Cat

Elsa

Elsa came into our lives on Sunday 1/31/16. She was found frozen in the road by one of our technicians, Ally. At the time, Ally still felt a faint heartbeat and knew she had to act fast. She called our lead Technician, Mary Kay, and the two of them rushed into the hospital to save our sweet Elsa. Under the direction of Dr. Pienschke, Ally and Mary Kay were able to slowly warm her up, hydrate her, and get her something to eat. At that moment we new she was special. We estimated that she was barely old enough to be away from her mother and designated December 7, 2015 as her birthday.

The next day the staff met Elsa and continued her care. She spent her first few weeks being carried around in scrub pockets and sleeping on laps. She warmed our hearts and we knew she had found her forever home. After a Facebook and in-office poll, our clients chose to name her Elsa.

Today Elsa enjoys running away from staff, monitoring the halls and lobby of the hospital, sleeping on warm towels and heating pads, and keeping recovering patients company. She is not your typical hospital pet, as she hides from nail trims and flea/tick treatment, and is not very social, but she makes us all laugh with her shenanigans. She also loves to sleep in the sun and watching the birds outside. You will often see her sitting in the window of the treatment room, where she can supervise the staff.
